GristMill Place

Our group had a wonderful time with all of the fun water sport items and the fabulous views and places to relax all around the home. The kitchens were so well-equipped and beautiful, as were the dining areas and the ultimate games room! We brought our own guitars and instruments, and felt so welcome in the space when we saw the Washburn guitar, ready to play! We will be back. Thank you, for renting us your beautiful, relaxing space.

Our second family Thanksgiving on this beautiful home. It works so well for a diverse age and interest group, room for those who want quiet and those who want fin and bod g together. Beds are bedrooms are very comfortable and unique. The best part is the flexibility and responsiveness and JF and Kathy, they are great hosts. We are going back. Highly recommend to anyone who is looking for a home away from home.

The Gristmill is a beautiful Airbnb located in an oh so charming town (Westport). The home is marvelously equipped and beautifully furnished.The townspeople are very friendly and the shopping is very close to the home... just a minutes walk.The town of Westport is located on a beautiful lake with pristine waters.Our group loved the home and the town.This Airbnb will not disappoint anyone.

I couldn’t be happier with this experience. JF and Kathy were super helpful and friendly. Great ambassadors for Airbnb. The community was also very friendly and engaging. We hiked on the many trails in the conservation area, went golfing at the nearby golf club, had an amazing lunch at the winery and many other wonderful things. The games room at the grist mill is out of this world!!! The group that I went there with gets together once a year to do something fun and unique. This was the best year ever! Thanks JF & Kathy!!!!

We stayed at the Gristmill with a group of friends from different parts of Canada and the States. We had a marvellous time and were very happy with our accommodations. We loved that there was plenty of room for group activities and also for smaller groups to have quiet conversations. We used the lovely kitchens to Kate many of our own meals and loved the lower level dining room where we could all gather. Thank you for a lovely stay.

We rented the entire house for our immediate family to stay in over the weekend that we had our wedding at the Cove next door. The Grist Mill is completely unique and an incredible property for hosting a large group. With three full kitchens on three separate levels and multiple wings for bedrooms, it was very easy to spread out and prepare meals for multiple families. We hosted our wedding rehearsal BBQ on the lower level in the beautiful courtyard next to the lake and it was the perfect, relaxed way to start our wedding weekend. Everyone loved the games room—another unique aspect of this property—and there were so many other amenities we didn’t have time to try out (water toys, hot tub, etc). The Grist Mill is located in the centre of Westport within walking distance to restaurants, grocery store, pharmacy, etc. The house was immaculate. The hosts and property manager went above and beyond to help us enjoy the weekend—we are very grateful!

An experience to be repeated in the future. Lots of room, loads of amenities and small extras through out. High quality everything and something for everyone, young ones to old, water lovers to deck knitters. We will be back.

What a fantastic place to celebrate a 65th birthday! Kathy, JF and Ben were all extremely accommodating, thoughtful and easy to communicate with, and went above and beyond to ensure we had a great time. The house was perfect for our event. We had a tournament in the Games Room before dinner, used the downstairs event room for dinner and a slide show, then moved to the top floor great room and broke out the guitars later in the evening. Having three kitchens made prepping meals for a large group so easy. Some of our guests got up early to watch the sun rise over the lake from the hot tub, some explored the shops around town, and others went for a hike up Foley Mountain. We watched the Super Bowl on the 85" TV in the Games Room. A perfect weekend spent with a wonderful group of friends.

This place is magical and spectacular. The hosts have found imaginative ways to add delightful small touches, and the quality of furnishings and amenities is five star. The atmosphere is fun and the space is flexible with many things to do and discover in the building itself. You won't want to miss a chance to stay here.

We had the great pleasure of staying at the Gristmill place for a magical weekend, hosting our daughter’s idyllic and intimate family wedding. The many common spaces offered wonderful gathering spots for meals and entertaining. The back deck overlooking Big Rideau Lake was a spectacular backdrop for the wedding ceremony. It was perfect in every way. Thank you, thank you thank you! JF and Kathy are fantastic hosts and the guest rooms are superb. So much to see and do in the area!
